Literature by People of Color

The Literature by People of Color Group will discuss Radical Hope: Ethics on the Face of Cultural Devastation by Jonathan Lear (Harvard University Press, $21.50). Using the available anthropology, the history of the Crow Indian tribes during their confinement to reservations, and drawing on philosophy and psychoanalytic theory, Lear explores the point at which people face the end of their way of life--a philosophical inquiry into a peculiar vulnerability that goes to the heart of the human condition.
