About:

In the Time of the Feathered Serpent is a modern-day allegory of 2,000-year-old events that transformed the history of humankind. It juxtaposes the classic failings of humanity—hate, fear, greed, and evil—against hope, love charity, and good. In the sequel to Gospel of the Feathered Serpent, the corpse of St. Thomas, papyrus scrolls, and 'Holy Grail' are the bargaining tools of a Mayan shaman during the Zapatista Rebelling in Mexico's southern Chiapas State. A trusting pope in very poor health experiences great hardship and tremendous peril, including a mushroom-induced hallucinogenic "trip" with the shaman. When Pope Lucas is kidnapped on the Usumacinta River by narco-traffickers on his way to the Yaxchilan Mayan ruin to meet the 'Holy Man' and recover the 1st Century scrolls, he is tortured and left for dead. Pope Lucas, archaeologist David Wolf, and the 'Holy Man' are all placed in a crucible with personal redemption or death the only alternatives.
